I agree with ibtrippen, you lazy bums need to stop whining. Working while you are in school and plenty of morning classes is not a glamorous college experience. It really does suck; Do me a favor, the next time your friends whine about their lousy, good-for-nothing jobs, you send them to me so I can slap them. I can see why your friends work in boring office jobs, they probably lack the necessary creativity to be taken seriously. Waking up at 12 and skipping networking opportunities probably has something to do with it as well.

What generation are you from? As a recent college graduate, I have to say: which classes can they skip? how can you not be "on" every moment of the day in college? what hookups and bong parties?

Seriously, are your friends stupid? Did they take classes for retards? College sucks and the great thing about having a real job--I and all of my friends agree--is NOT having to be "on" all the time. The great thing is that when you're out of the office, you are actually out of the office. You don't have to (unless you're a teacher or a lawyer) keep working until you fall asleep.

And that part about sleeping until noon: have you never heard of 8AM laboratories? Have you never heard of working while in school?

Do me a favor. The next time your friends whine about their lousy, good-for-nothing jobs, you send them to me so I can tell them to shut up.

Great post! It's nice to hear someone else's struggles with the not-so-glamorous, hangover ridden post-college years. The commute to work in the morning is always the worst. Agreed? Those are when the college memories hit the hardest. Although I work for a really exciting advertising agency that produced great work -- nothing is like those good ol' college years. Hopefully, things will shape up or I start getting used the daily grind that is turning into my life...

This is spot on! Especially the 'lofty expectations' part. I thought my job was awesome until I started working..

The only reason I'm not hating on my job today is that I got lucky last night and today my mind is fully occupied with abortion plans...God forbid, that would ruin my career ...
